of at least 50 people on Saturday afternoon, forced their way into a block of flats along WF

One of the Nigerian victims, who didn't give his name, said the mob forced their way into his house and stole his TV, laptop and cell phone.
"If they want us to go back home they must tell the embassy to stop giving out visas. There are a lot of South Africans with businesses in Nigeria. If I go back home it won’t be good for the South Africans living in Nigeria. They say we are selling drugs but they didn’t find any. Why did they steal our things if they are looking for drugs?"
A woman whose house was also vandalised cried hysterically while police looked on. Some among the angry mob were drinking beer during the raid. At least five police officials looked on as the mob forced its way into the block of flats.
Some South Africans as well as Congolese nationals who live in the block told News24 their houses had also been ransacked. They said the mob, which claimed to be looking for drugs, found nothing but instead stole their belongings.
Shops in and around the area have closed and people are leaving the area in search of safety. Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, said he would investigate why police stood looking on as resident's homes were vandalised.
"I am not sure about that but I will look into it. We have enough officials on the ground in the area and they are supported by a police chopper."
No arrests have been made, he added.
Meanwhile, the angry mob also set a house allegedly notorious as the scene of criminal activities...prostitution and drug peddling. The house is named the Doll House.

Photos: Three armed robbers killed during gun duel with police in Calabar
Operatives of the Cross River State Police Command today, shot dead
three armed robbers in a gun duel along Mayne Avenue, Calabar, Cross
River State. Below is the report by Paul Ifere:
"According to inside information, one of the robbers was one that I reported last two weeks that he was arrested by police and was bailed and released by Police after captured with a gun and live bullets. The information has it that he has also spent sometimes with SARS.
It is quite unfortunate that the police are sending arm robbers back into the society to go and commit more crimes. However, luck ran out of them today when three of his gangsters were shot dead during gun battle with Police at Mayne Avenue Calabar. The young man resting his head on the gutter is the same guy I displayed here two weeks ago.
The Police officers in Calabar should not give us the go ahead to demonstrate against them please. If you arrest a criminal with a gun, please make sure that person is prosecuted.
Photo: Thief returns stolen van to mortuary after finding corpse in the back
A 24-year-old man stole two vans from the same mortuary and returned the
first one when he discovered a fresh corpse in the back, according to a
report.
Bobby Joe Washington, took off with van No. 1, which was parked with the keys left inside near a Chicago Avenue morgue in Riverside, around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
But an hour later, once he realized there was a cadaver in the back, he returned the van — and stole a second vehicle, sans body, cops said.
Washington was charged with two counts of auto theft, one count of evading police and one count of assault with a deadly weapon. But he dodged charges of stealing the dead body because cops believe he didn’t intend to take it in the first place.

"I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anything like this," said Riverside Police Department spokesman Ryan Railsback. Out of all the bad decisions he made, he at least made one good one and brought back the deceased person."When a mortuary employee tried to stop him the second time around, Washington tried running that person over, authorities said. He then sent police on a 10-minute chase but was finally arrested about 2½ miles from the morgue.

"We don’t think he knew it was in there at the time he stole it," Railsback said.Police said the driver of the first van had just picked up a deceased person and briefly popped inside the morgue to pick up paperwork when Washington happened along.

Progressive Congress (APC)
The restaurateur, who is known
for being outspoken, posted the above pic & blasted the government
for having spent almost two years blaming the last administration while
prices of goods skyrockets.She wrote;
"While APC was busy blaming the past government for everything that is bad with Nigeria today, this is what really happened under their watchit's time to buck up and try and fix it. A year and a half of the blame game doesn't help NIgerians that voted for them. Let's all come together as one nation and find solutions. Let's make NIgeria a priority pls. We have only this country to call our own, if APC focuses on that, they might still have a chance of taking Nigeria out of this gloom."
